Cincinnati State Technical and Community College is opening a new branch at Miami University's Middletown campus in the fall of 2023, officials announced during a Monday morning press conference.

Cincinnati State is a public technical and community college that offers more than 140 associate degree, bachelor's degree and certificate programs in business, health, engineering, humanities, sciences, culinary, information technologies and public safety. Miami Regionals includes three community-based locations of Miami University in Hamilton, Middletown and West Chester. The community campuses offer bachelor's degrees, associate degrees and beginning coursework for most four-year degrees.

“Partnerships like this are where higher education is going," Cincinnati State President Monica Posey said in Monday's news release.

Cincinnati State students at the Middletown campus will have access to Miami Regionals resources and clear pathways to pursue Miami's four-year degree options. The partnership between the two universities is part of their commitment to Moon Shot for Equity, an initiative launched last year with Northern Kentucky University and Gateway Community and Technical College to erase racial and ethnic equity gaps in higher education by 2030.

“Working together will enable us to substantially increase educational opportunities,” Ande Durojaiye, vice president and dean of Miami’s Regionals campuses, said in the news release. “The collaboration will enhance transfer pathways for students, increase the number of bachelor’s degree graduates in the region, and better support workforce and economic development.”
