Temperatures will be above normal today, the National Weather Service office in Wilmington, Ohio, said, with some rain moving through Greater Cincinnati tonight. The warmer weather won't last long, though, with a cold front expected to move through the area on Friday.

According to the service, Thursday's weather will bring clouds and a high of 61. Rain showers are expected tonight, mainly after midnight, with a low around 48. Cincinnati could get between a tenth and a quarter of an inch of rain.

Rain will continue through Friday morning, with the temperature falling to around 42 by noon. Cooler temps, including a chance of flurries, will continue through the weekend.

Cincinnati was placed under a winter advisory earlier this week amidst snow showers, which was lifted at 10 a.m. Wednesday.

NWS Wilmington said on Twitter temperatures will moderate over the next few days and return to more seasonal numbers as winds become more southernly.

Tonight: Showers expected, more so after midnight with a low around 48. Chance of rain is 100%, and between a tenth and quarter of an inch of new precipitation is possible.

Friday: Chance of rain is 70% and precipitation is expected mainly before noon. Otherwise cloudy weather with the temperature falling to around 42 by noon.

Friday night: Partly cloudy with a low around 27.

Saturday: Chance of flurries and wind gusts, as fast as 32 mph. Mostly sunny, with a high near 37.
