A flood warning is still in effect until 10 a.m. Friday after the heavy rain that pummeled Greater Cincinnati.

For areas in East Central and Southeast Indiana, Northeast and Northern Kentucky and Central, South Central, Southwest and West Central Ohio, lingering high water will cause some flooding to persist through Friday night, although the probability for "widespread" hazardous weather is low, according to the National Weather Service.

The Great Miami River is currently experiencing "minor flooding," recorded at 18.34 feet in Miamitown.

The Little Miami is also slightly above flood stage at 17.69 feet in Milford.

The Ohio River is just below at "near flood stage," last recorded at 38.62 feet in Cincinnati.

Some areas received record rainfall Thursday:

  • 2.25 inches in Cincinnati, breaking the previous 1976 record of 1.02 inches;

  • 1.45 inches in Dayton breaking 1910's record of 0.95 inches;

  • 1.83 inches in Columbus breaking 1910's record of 0.74 inches.

Several roads in the region were closed due to high water.
