Cincinnati's Oktoberfest 'Running of the Wieners' Couldn't Be More Entertaining

Sounds like the perfect fall day to us!

Vibrant fall colors, local beer, and a wiener dog race--it can't get much better than that! These are just three of the autumnal splendors that you can enjoy at Oktoberfest Zinzinnati, the annual fall festival that takes place in Southwest Ohio. This year, 100 Dachshunds and Doxie-mixes raced for the winning title, and first place went to one cutie pie named Leo, according to WLWT

Want to know the best part about the 'Running of the Weiners'? Every one of the pups was dressed as a hot dog!

We. Are. Obsessed! This is possibly the best way to kick off Oktoberfest that we've ever seen. Everyone in the audience is so lucky! Still, we're incredibly glad that WLWT was able to share this footage.

The only ones who are having more fun than the audience are the pet parents making this happen! One of them, Kenzie Ratliff, even reached out to comment on the video. "Best fun ive ever had!!" she said. "So proud of my boy!" Aww--that's so sweet! At the end of the day, it's all about the fun and not the winning, though we certainly won't hear Leo complaining!

"Love those little wieners!" said Patrick Finn. Well, how could you not? From their tiny little legs to the hilarious hot dog costumes, there's enough to keep anyone smiling all day. Just look at them run!

Christina Al Guhl joked, "these are the only type of weiners I would want running towards me," and we most certainly agree. Heck--we'll even volunteer to referee (rufferee?) next year!

Do you have a pet who's funny, smart, full of personality, or just downright adorable? We'd love for you to submit a video of your fur baby for a chance to be featured on PetHelpful and our social channels! Click here to upload your clip and share your beloved pet with the world.
