It's Cinco de Mayo, and restaurants in Greater Cincinnati are ready to celebrate.
Also known as the Battle of Puebla Day, Cinco de Mayo commemorates the anniversary of Mexico's victory over the French Empire during the Franco-Mexican War. It's observed each year on May 5, and while it's not a significant holiday in Mexico, it has become widely celebrated in the United States.
The 2023 Cincy-Cinco Latino Festival will mark the holiday this weekend at Fountain Square with Latin food, live music and dancing. Cincinnati foodies can also celebrate today at restaurants and bars, some of which are offering deals.
