Peoria Friendship House will host a Cinco de Mayo celebration from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Friday, May 5, at 800 NE Madison Ave. This free community event will feature food, games, piñatas, folkloric dancers, a mariachi band and more.

Wine & Whiskers fundraiser

The Peoria Humane Society will host its annual Wine & Whiskers fundraiser from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 5, at the Trailside Event Center, 4416 N. Prospect Road, Peoria Heights. Admission is $50 per person and includes wine tastings from local businesses, hors d'oeuvres, silent auction, wine pull, live music and a visit from adoptable feline friends. Party in the Heights

The 2023 season of Friday Night Heights will kick off from 5 to 10 p.m. Friday, May 5, at Tower Park, 4901 N. Prospect Road, Peoria Heights. The event will feature live music from Patrick n Swayze, food from El Taco Rico and Sucre Sweets, Clink mobile bar and more.

Thomas Rhett in concert

Maifest at the Lindenhof

The Peoria German-American Society’s annual Maifest will be held Sunday, May 7, at the Lindenhof, 7601 N. Harker Drive, from noon to 6 p.m. Admission is free. Attendees can enjoy German foods, German wines and beer. Entertainment throughout the day will include Alphorns, accordion music, Harmonie & Damenchor singers and more. Peoria Chiefs in action

The Peoria Chiefs will take on the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers at 3 p.m. Sunday, May 7, at Dozer Park.
