Circus Lena cancels this week’s performances at Peachtree Mall. Here’s what we know.
Circus Lena has canceled its May 31-June 4 performances at Peachtree Mall because of “unforeseen circumstances,” according to a post on Facebook.
“We apologize for the disappointment and inconvenience and appreciate your understanding with this change of plans,” Circus Lena wrote in the Facebook post.
The circus said that all individuals who purchased tickets would be reimbursed to their original form of payment, and anyone who had questions regarding refunds should contact its ticketing department.
Police have had a presence at Peachtree Mall multiple times in the last month for shots fired and were involved in a parking lot chase.
Peachtree Mall does not discuss internal negotiations with tenants or license agreements, spokesperson Ali Phillips told the Ledger-Enquirer, but confirmed that the circus cancellation was not related to security concerns.
“It’s just that the internal negotiations didn’t work out,” Phillips said.
The Ledger-Enquirer has not yet been able to contact circus officials.
Circus Lena’s performances would have lasted about an hour and half and educated guests about circus history and tradition in America amid performances by acrobats, daredevils, comedians and high flying aerialists.
The show’s next stop will now be in Kennesaw, Georgia beginning June 9.
