Cirque du Soleil is returning to Sacramento this summer with a show at the Golden 1 Center.

Corteo, directed by Daniel Finzi Pasca, will run for four days from Aug. 3 to 6. It first premiered in Montreal, Canada, in 2005, and since has been performed in 20 countries.

The Italian word Corteo means “a joyous procession, a festive parade imagined by a clown,” according to the Cirque Du Soleil news release.

The production follows a clown who “pictures his own funeral taking place in a carnival atmosphere, watched over by quietly caring angels” and “highlights the strength and fragility of the clown.

Cirque du Soleil: Alegria was performed in West Sacramento last summer.

How to get tickets to Cirque du Soleil Corteo

Tickets for Corteo can be purchased through Ticketmaster and range from $55 to $159 per ticket, depending on where you decide to sit.

The production runs for 125 minutes and has 16 acts, according to the news release.Below are the dates when you can see the show:

  • Thursday, Aug. 3 at 7:30 p.m.

  • Friday, Aug. 4 at 7:30 p.m.

  • Saturday, Aug. 5 at 3:30 p.m.

  • Saturday, Aug. 5 at 7:30 p.m.
