Citrus Coast League selects its top players for 2022 fall sports season

Robert Barrera of Hueneme earned Offensive Player of the Year honors, Tory Cabral of Fillmore was chosen the Defensive Player of the Year, and Colton Roddick of Nordhoff was named the Lineman of the Year in the Citrus Coast League for the 2022 football season.

Named to the first team were Jarod Uridel, Anthony Tafoya, Nate Delgadillo, Ivan Becerra, Ben Meza, Diego Amezcua and David Jimenez, Drew Portugal and Nathan Torres of Fillmore; Aiden Avitia, Josiah Sanchez, Yahir Gomez, Juan Lopez, Alberto Ortiz, Matthew Perez and Angel Gomez of Hueneme; Bryce Zavala, Marcus Castaneda, Arturo Alcaraz, Alan Macias and Isaac Marroquin of Santa Paula; Talon Trumble and Israel Samaguey of Carpinteria; and Sol McGarey of Nordhoff.

Named to the second team were Ray Curiel, Nico Virto, Matt Magana, Pat Villasenor, Sergio Martinez, Adrian Vazquez and Diego Alcaraz of Fillmore; Alberto Perez, Andy Tumamait, Joseph Kraus, Ezra Juarez, Christian Isidoro, Oswaldo Collazo and Brian Pintor of Hueneme; Justen Zamudio, Tony Cuevas, Derek Ramirez, Alias Rabago and Josue Garcia of Santa Paula; Matthew Munoz, Sebastian Hernandez, Judah Torres and David Alvarez of Carpinteria; and Daniel Herrejon, Shane Loes, Austin Wheatley and Oney Singh of Nordhoff.

Earning honorable-mention honors were Jathan Magana, Sergio Torres, Daniel Magana and Matthew Pineda of Fillmore; Isaiah Campos, Xavier Mendoza, Joshua Rodriguez-Mcharg, Oscar Villafona and Manuel Campos Cisneros of Hueneme; Anthony Mex, Nathan Perez, Matt Escamilla, Ryan Muralles and Uzziah Avila of Santa Paula; Pacual Torres, Sawyer Kelly and Erick Trejo of Carpinteria; and Uriel Covarrubias, Ethan Quinn, Ayden Van Rynsoever, Hayden Velasquez and Conner Jones of Nordhoff.

Charlie Weis of Fillmore was named the Coach of the Year.

BOYS CROSS COUNTRY

Diego Rodriguez of Santa Paula was the Runner of the Year.

Making the first team were Joel de Lira of Carpinteria; Eduardo Vigil of Fillmore; Edward Perez of Hueneme; Satchel Reid of Malibu; Edgardo Santiago Gayton of Channel Islands; and Dylan Blacker of Nordhoff.

Making the second team were Angel Garcia, Diego Ramirez, Nicholas Hurtado and Josh Estrada of Fillmore; Uriel Texis of Channel Islands; Ranger Murphree of Malibu; and Pope Oy of Hueneme.

Earning honorable-mention honors were Jose Ruiz of Channel Islands; Hugo Alvarado, Marvin Lujano and Ben Smith of Carpinteria; Cayden Budlong, Nathan Lovato and Dillon Rothermel of Nordhoff; Anthony Valdovinos and Reyes Gonzales of Santa Paula; and Monique Hurtado of Fillmore.

Kim Tafoya of Fillmore was named the Coach of the Year.

GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY

Tallula Murphree of Malibu was the Runner of the Year.
