Citrus County woman dies after being hit twice by trucks on US-19

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — A Homosassa woman died early Monday morning after she was hit by trucks on US-19, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The FHP said at midnight, a 43-year-old woman was standing in US-19 south of West Village Drive when she was hit by a Ford F-150.

She was then hit again by a Ford F-250 that was following behind. She died at the scene, troopers said.

It is not known why the woman was in the roadway. Neither of the truck drivers suffered any injuries in the crash.
