City installs artistic crosswalks at the Six Points intersection

The historic Six Points intersection has a whole new look.

The city of Corpus Christi completed the installation of four artistic crosswalks at the Six Points intersection Thursday.

After roadway construction was completed in November 2021, City Council approved the installation of crosswalks to celebrate the history and character of the area.

The blue and white tile design was selected to recognize Corpus Christi's bayfront, while the wavy pattern pays homage to the retro feel of the Six Points area.

An online survey was conducted to allow local businesses to vote on nine design options for the artistic crosswalks.

The city plans to install more artistic crosswalks across Corpus Christi and has also adopted a community art policy that will govern artistic crosswalks.
