City of Jacksonville announces the return of Jax River Jams

The City of Jacksonville announced the return of Jax River Jams Presented by VyStar Credit Union.

This free, four-week, multi-genre concert series will be held Thursdays in April at Riverfront Plaza in Downtown Jacksonville.

The headliner will perform at 8:30 p.m. and openers will perform at 5:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.

April 6: American Rock Band Cold War Kids

  • “First,” “Hang Me Up to Dry” and “Love is Mystical”

  • Local Openers: Genre-bending Indie Rock band Bad Madonna and Multi-instrumentalist artist Visitation

April 13: Grammy Award Winning Reggae and Hip Hop Artist Shaggy

  • “Boombastic,” “It Wasn’t Me” and “Angel”

  • Local Openers: Hip Hop collective L.O.V.E. Culture and Multi-genre funk band Jeremy Ryan

April 20: Grammy Award Nominated Alternative Pop Band Grouplove

  • “Tongue Tied,” “Raspberry” and “Ways to Go”

  • Local Openers: Mom Rock band Faze Wave and Indie group Liza Attic

April 27: Academy of Country Music and iHeartRadio Award Winning Country Star Chris Lane

  • “Fix”, “I Don’t Know About You” and “Big, Big Plans”

  • Local Openers: Country band Cumberland and Singer/Songwriter Dylan Gerard

Returning for a third year to Riverfront Plaza, Jax River Jams Presented by VyStar Credit Union is an inclusive celebration for Northeast Florida. By matching local openers with national acts, Jax River Jams showcases the rich talent of Jacksonville’s music scene, prioritizes supporting regional talent, and gives local bands paid opportunities to open each show in front of thousands of music lovers.

The series welcomes the community Downtown and showcases its potential as a vibrant, 24-hour city center. Last year, the concert series brought nearly 33,000 people to the Downtown area.

“The City of Jacksonville is excited to announce the return of this exciting free event,” said Mayor Curry. “We encourage citizens to enjoy the music, artists, dining, riverfront views, and everything Downtown has to offer. The City, VyStar Credit Union, Downtown Vision, and our other partners are committed to making this an event to remember!”

Jax River Jams Presented by VyStar Credit Union will also feature food trucks and bars with local craft beer and spirits. Camp chairs and picnic blankets are encouraged.
