City man indicted on nine counts of gross sexual imposition on a child

LANCASTER − A city man is facing nine counts of gross sexual imposition for offenses related to a minor under 13.

The grand jury indictment alleges that Kurt Mitchell Karns had sexual contact with the victim who was less than 13. All nine charges against Karns are third-degree felonies. The court records show Karns was born in 2001, but it does not list the month and day.

The indictment says the offenses occurred on or about Oct. 3, 2022, through April 3, 2024.

According to court records, Karns had an initial court appearance via video on April 15 and a preliminary hearing on April 18. There is not a date shown for his next court hearing yet.
