City of Mobile to open additional Mardi Gras Parking this week

MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — The City of Mobile is adding more parking options on Thursday ahead of the weekend of parades, according to a release from the city.

The city will activate the Alabama Department of Transportation property at 257 S. Royal St. for Mardi Gras parking. This is in response to the city anticipating growing crowds as the Carnival season continues.

This parking lot will have the same hours of operation, parking rates and payment methods as the other Mardi Gras parking locations like underneath Interstate 10 and the National Maritime Museum of the Gulf Coast.

Mardi Gras parking areas will open two hours before the first parade and be staffed until 10 p.m. on parade days. All locations will remain open after 10 p.m., so Mardi Gras ball and parade attendees can get to their vehicles.
