Get ready for a little rain, Delaware. Or maybe a lot.
Get ready for a little rain, Delaware. Or maybe a lot.

The AccuWeather forecast for today is cloudy, with occasional morning rain and drizzle followed by a passing shower in the afternoon, so, yes those cute rain boots in your closet may be called for. The high is 60.

What will Sunday hold for Delaware? The forecast calls for more soggy and a flood warning.

We’re expecting periods of rain, becoming heavy at times, and it’s best to watch for flooding on streets and poor drainage areas.

The Bug & Bud Festival will pay tribute to Delaware's state insect (the ladybug) and nature in downtown Milford on Saturday, April 29.

Delaware's state insect is the precious ladybug.

In celebration of that little cutie, folks are being summoned downstate to the annual Bug & Bud Festival, an event that also shows love to trees.

Think of this event as Earth Day 2.0, except you'll see more people wearing black-and-red costumes with tentacle headpieces.

The festival includes a pizza contest, parade, kids zone, food and craft vendors, paddle boats (near Arena's Restaurant) and more.

The Bug & Bud Festival invades downtown Milford (10 S. Walnut St., Milford) from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. Free event. Visit Facebook.com/DowntownMilfordInc, downtownmilford.org or (302) 839-1180.

Book it over to the library

The grand reopening of Wilmington Public Library's sister branch features an afternoon of food trucks, music and games.

Six authors will be on hand for meet-and-greet book signings, including Ilyasah Shabazz, daughter of Malcolm X, who wrote "Betty Before X."  There's also Marc Lamont Hill, Gordon C. James, Janya Brown-Wood, Patricia Raybon and Antwan Eady.

Guests will receive a $20 voucher when they visit the authors, according to Wilmington Library's Facebook page.

You can book it to this celebration at North Wilmington Branch Library (3400 N. Market St., Wilmington) from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday. Visit Facebook.com/WilmingtonLibraryDE or (302) 571-7400.
