City of Seattle to give free meals to students during teachers’ strike
With classes on hold for Seattle Public Schools students during a teachers’ strike, the school district is providing free meals for students until school begins.
Students who attend public school in Seattle are eligible for free sack lunches prepared by the district’s culinary services team starting Monday, Sept. 12. Parents and guardians may pick up the meals and students do not need to be in attendance.
The meal pickup sites will be open from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on weekdays at these 50 sites:
