According to the city, residential customers who use their curbside collection services, except multi-family home communities and businesses, will be able to request two bulky items pick-ups a year at no charge.

“Bulky items to be picked up at no charge include furniture, appliances, carpet, fence material, old toys and other large items that do not fit in a residential cart. No liquid waste, tires, limbs, brush, tree stumps or construction material will be picked up,” the City of Tyler said.

If the bulky items exceed eight cubic yards per pick up there will be an extra charge.

Items should be placed on the curb and photographed to be included in the online request. The form is available on the Tyler Solid Waste website.

“As Solid Waste pilots this new program, some delays may occur. Tyler Solid Waste will work to pick up the service requests within five business days,” the city said.
