MPD: Child found safe after City Watch alert issued

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Memphis Police issued a City Watch for a one-year-old who was reportedly taken by the mother following an argument and shooting.

MPD says the mother, Mikenna Smith, and her child’s father had gotten into an argument.

Smith reportedly pulled out a gun and fired a shot at the father. She then took the child, Kodi Hill, and fled the scene. According to the father, Smith is unstable and will harm their child.

Kodi Hill was last seen wearing an orange sweatshirt and gray pants.

Mikenna Smith is 5’2 and weighs 130 pounds. She was last seen wearing a pink hoodie and is said to be armed with a black handgun.

She fled the scene in a white Volvo SUV.
