CJ Stroud leads eight Buckeyes invited to NFL combine

Eight Ohio State players have been invited to the NFL combine in Indianapolis, led by quarterback C.J. Stroud.

Stroud will be joined by offensive tackles Paris Johnson Jr. and Dawand Jones, center Luke Wypler, wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba, defensive end Zach Harrison, cornerback Cam Brown and safety Ronnie Hickman.

The NFL invited 319 players to the combine, which runs Feb. 28-March 6.

Stroud is a lock to be a high first-round draft pick. Johnson is considered a sure first-rounder. Smith-Njigba is also highly likely to be taken in the first round despite missing most of last season with a hamstring injury.

Safety Tanner McAlister, defensive tackle Taron Vincent and kicker Noah Ruggles were among Ohio State players who didn't receive a combine invitation.

Seven Ohio State players were invited to last year's combine. Fourteen were selected in 2021.
