Clarion Ledger Super 10: High school baseball rankings for week of April 11

Here are the Clarion Ledger's Super 10 high school baseball rankings for the week of April 11. The teams were picked by the paper's sports staff, baseball minds and coaches around the state.

1. Northwest Rankin (21-2) – The Cougars are riding a 12-game winning streak after defeating Warren Central and Brandon. Northwest Rankin held Brandon to three hits in Saturday's 2-1 victory over the Bulldogs.

2. Jackson Prep (20-4) – The Patriots swept a three-game series with Hartfield Academy and outscored the Hawks 22-4. Junior Duncan Mathews had three RBIs in Friday's 7-2 victory.

3. Sumrall (21-0) – The Bobcats remained perfect with two victories over Lawrence County and Seminary. Senior Cade Dedeaux had a triple, two stolen bases and four RBIs in Saturday's 13-2 victory over the Bulldogs.

4. Lewisburg (21-1) – The Patriots extended their 19-game winning streak with a three-game sweep of of Center Hill and defeating Munford (Tennessee) 9-6 on Thursday. Senior Scott Sharp allowed three hits, one run and had five strikeouts in six innings in Lewisburg's 5-2 victory over Center Hill Saturday.

5. Madison-Ridgeland Academy (25-3) – The Patriots swept their three-game series against Parklane Academy and outscored the Pioneers 33-7. MRA had eight players with an RBI and junior Kaleb Lipscomb led the team with three in Saturday's 14-2 victory.

6. Magnolia Heights (17-4) – The Chiefs went 2-1 against Starkville Academy and have won five of their last six games. Cooper Pratt, Jackson Jenkins and Ethan Coley combined for six RBIs in Magnolia Heights' 8-7 victory Friday.

7. New Hope (21-2) – The Trojans went 2-1 with victories over Saltillo and Choctaw County. Senior Brant Smith had a grand slam in Friday's 7-4 victory over Saltillo.

8. Starkville Academy (20-5) – The Volunteers had their nine-game winning streak snapped against Magnolia Heights. Starkville Academy avoided a sweep with at 9-8 victory Friday.

9. Brandon (19-6) – The Bulldogs rolled to a 10-0 victory over Petal and 10-0 win over Meridian. Senior Trace Huston had a home run and three RBIs in Friday's victory over Meridian.

10. Madison Central (15-4) – The Jaguar extended their win streak to nine with a victory over Ridgeland and three-game sweep of Murrah. Madison Central outscored Murrah 49-0.
