Clark has No. 5 Butler Bulldogs believing in their future succes in first season as head coach

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WJBF) – Butler Bulldogs first year head boys basketball coach Chaz Clark has his team believing they can compete for a state championship. Butler (14-4) is currently ranked No. 5 in GHSA 2A. Clark was hired two weeks before the school year began after longtime Butler head coach Cervantes Body took a job in administration at Glenn Hills.

Clark played at Butler under Body, including being a part of the 2011 state championship runner-up team. He has also been the Butler junior varsity head coach for the last five seasons. He says that familiarity and continuity have been key to the Bulldogs’ success this season. He is also proud of their accomplishments in the classroom as well, with a team average GPA of 3.275, and 16 of 24 players in the program with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
