Clarksdale, MS Police respond to 10 shootings in 5 days

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — There were ten shots fired calls reported within five days in Clarksdale, Mississippi, according to the Clarksdale Police Department.

Shooting on Frayser Boulevard leaves 1 dead, 1 detained

From February 1 through February 5, officers responded to multiple shootings, an aggravated assault, and a residential burglary.

Shots were fired in the following locations:

  • 300 block of Madison Street

  • 600 block of West Tallahatchie Avenue

  • 500 block of Leflore Street

  • 400 block of Garfield Street

  • 400 block of Bolivar Street

  • 600 block of Desoto Street

  • Area of McKinley Street and Roosevelt Street

  • 500 block of Spruce Street

  • 600 block of Maple Street

  • 600 block of West Second Street

CPD said they responded to the aggravated assault at the hospital regarding a gunshot victim.

The victim stated that he was in the 300 block of Madison Street when he heard gunshots. He did not see a person or a vehicle pass by but he was hit by gunfire, according to reports.

He was then flown to Memphis for further treatment.

Officers also say a residential burglary took place in the 1300 block of Center Street. The homeowner reported an unknown person broke into the home, stealing two PlayStations and a 9mm handgun.
