Clarksville Parks and Recreation will host "Magic in the Park" on Saturday — an outdoor event themed on the book series about a boy wizard and his adventures at a magic school.

A free movie showing, costume contest and food vendors will be featured from 3-8 p.m. at Liberty Park’s Wilma Rudolph Event Center. The afternoon activities are free and visitors are encouraged to dressed as your favorite character.

The Saturday event will include:

  • Enchanting Merchandise by Magnificent Artisans

  • Themed drinks such as butterscotch beverages, coffee favorites and fresh lemonade

  • Themed treats from food trucks, including Bondi Bowls, Big Kahuna’s Island Grill, SmashNBeef Co, Nothing Bundt Cakes, and MI Coney.

  • Fandom Costume Contest for best costume with a chance to win prizes. Sign-up will be on site and space is limited.

  • Showing of the first movie in the series under the starlit sky at sunset

  • Reptile Encounter from The Wild Life!

  • Community Mural with the APSU Library to promote reading with a collaborative mural

Parking will be available inside the park, as well as free event shuttles to and from the Clarksville-Montgomery County School System South Central Services parking lot at 1312 State Highway 48. Plus, two Clarksville Transit System buses will run from 2:30-8:30 p.m.
