Clash of the Titans captivates Monroe wrestling fans

Wrestling fans packed the Monroe FOP once again on June 9 for Insane Wrestling Revolution’s IWR 12 - Clash of the Titans.

The capacity show was headlined by former WWE Superstar and Wyatt Family member, Erick Redbeard Rowan, taking on IWR World Heavyweight Champion Big Kon. Those two titans fought throughout the house of insanity, leaving a trail of broken tables, doors, crutches and complete destruction behind them, with Rowan getting the surprise victory and becoming the new IWR World Heavyweight Champion.

The title reign was short-lived, however, as the Dread King Logan stormed the ring and sparked a locker room-clearing brawl. With the crowds chants of “ let them fight,”  IWR owner Gary Pillette sanctioned an impromptu title match between Logan and Rowan, with Dread King Logan coming out the victor and new IWR Champion.

IWR US Champion and Impact Superstar, Trey Miguel, and Top Notch Jason Hotch battled in what was the clear match of the night, as they stole the show with one of the greatest matches in an IWR ring to date. Both men gave it there all, flying into the crowd and using multiple finishers on one another, with Trey Miguel ultimately pinning Hotch to retain his title.

The night also included The Eh Team from Canada beating down Monroe’s own ManBeast Rhino ,with staff having to help Rhino back to the dressing room. No reports on if Rhino will be able to return to action anytime soon. The new look GameChangers retained the IWR Tag Team Titles against DTA. Other IWR superstars picking up victories were Grimey Zach Thomas, Tanner Nix, The Main Event Monster Madman Fulton, and The Perminator Sam Beale.
