Clashes Erupt in East Jerusalem After Israeli Police Kill Palestinian Protester

Two people were detained and multiple homes were raided in Isawiya, East Jerusalem, on Friday, June 28, during clashes triggered by the fatal police shooting of a Palestinian man the night before, according to the Palestine news agency WAFA.

Twenty-year-old Mohammad Samir Ebeid was shot on Thursday evening after he allegedly shot fireworks at police, said a Times of Israel report. He died of his wounds in hospital, reports said.

According to the Jerusalem Post, at least 20 people were injured after the clashes between Palestinian protesters and Israeli forces erupted on Thursday.
