Class of 2022 Academic All Stars: Denae Johnson of Foothills Community Christian School

Isaiah 40:31: "But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength. They shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint" (NKJV).

Denae Marie Johnson is the daughter of Dr. Paul Johnson and Janelle Johnson. Johnson is Foothills Community Christian School Salutatorian for the class of 2022. She has attended Foothills since the first grade and has been involved in a variety of extracurricular activities.

She has played on the Foothills varsity volleyball team for three years and has served on the student council as historian for one year and Treasurer for two years. She was a member of National Junior Honor Society and currently is a member of the National Honor Society.

She works behind the scenes on the High School Praise team, running sound and visuals for the past four years. She is the first student to be enrolled in four years of video production class and has participated in C-SPAN student cam, a national competition.

In total, she will have completed over 330 hours of community service over her four years in High School. Outside of School, she is a member of the Great Falls Figure Skating club and recently received a silver medal at a Cody, Wyoming, competition. She has also completed her advanced scuba diving certification.

After graduation, she plans to take a gap year to pursue her divemaster certification. After that, she will attend Grand Canyon University for a bachelor's degree in biology before going on to complete her masters in marine biology. She has received $56,400 from GCU in merit-based scholarships.
