Dillon Warren has been able to make the most of his high school career during his time at Great Falls Central Catholic High School. He is the son of Craig and Kris Warren.
Warren has been heavily involved in sports at Central Catholic by playing football (grades 10-12), tennis, basketball and golf for three years. Unfortunately, due to the pandemic in 2020, sports were cancelled for a season.
Recently, Warren competed at State B/C tournament for golf placing fourth overall and placed third in the first class divisional golf tournament. Just last week, Warren and his partner placed first in the B/C class divisional tennis tournament, and Warrren is currently working his way through the state meet for tennis in Bozeman.
Throughout high school, he has lettered for golf (four years), basketball (three years), football and tennis (two years), and in soccer and band (1 year). He has also been awarded defensive player of the year in both basketball and football, along with rookie of the year in his freshman year for golf and MVP in golf during his high school career.
Outside of the court or field, he participated in adventure club, cooking club, chess club and band.
“My favorite hobby is skiing, so we will see what the desert has in store for me,” said Warren, who plans to attend Grand Canyon University in Phoenix to study business finance with a minor in statistics.
Mr. Kessler has made the biggest impact on Warren during his time at Central Catholic as his gym and weight training teacher. “Mr. Kessler has taught me that not everyone has an easy life, but that it is not an excuse to avoid working hard and make your life worth living. He pushes me every day to succeed and to be a better person,” he said.
His most memorable high school experience was traveling to Winnett/Grass Range with his basketball team last winter: “We walked into the gym and almost every player was about a foot or more taller than us. The crowd was definitely against us. We were the underdogs in the game, but our team banded together and played such a good basketball game, we walked out with a win.”
Dillon Warren has been awarded the Jake Arston Scholarship of $500.
