Kolrosing, a Scandinavian tradition: June 18, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; instructor Ty Thornock; beginners and above, minimum age 14; specially designed knife is used to cut fine lines into the wood which is backfilled with pigments; tuition $90, registration deadline June 4.

Introduction to Ale Bowl Carving: July 8-10, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; instructor Jim Paulson; beginner and above, minimum age 16; carve a Scandinavian ale bowl in the shape of a small rooster; tuition $195, $20 supply fee paid at class; registration deadline June 25.

Os style rosemaling: Aug. 5-7, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; instructor Clarice Dieter; beginner and above, minimum age 15; paint a tray in the Os style; tuition $165, tray and supply list upon enrollment, advance purchases required; registration deadline July 23.

Acanthus carving: Aug. 8-12, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.; instructor Jock Holmen; beginner and above; learn to carve elegant, ornate leaf designs in wood; tuition $325, plus supplies; registration deadline July 23.

Stone setting: Aug. 19-20, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.; instructor William Kennedy; silversmithing or goldsmithing experience necessary, minimum age 18; setting round cubic zirconia stones using the bead and bright cut setting and the flush or "Gypsy" setting; tuition $165; registration deadline Aug. 6.

Swedish wheat weaving: Aug 20, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.; instructor Lynette Swenson; beginner and above, minimum age 14; tuition $95, supply list upon enrollment; registration deadline Aug. 6.

Feeling dull? Learn to keep your edge: Aug. 20, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.; instructor Fred Livesay; beginners and above, minimum age 15; discuss edge geometry, sharpening stone types, technique and edge triage and how to deal with it. Bring your kitchen knives, pruners, plane and even mower blades for lots of hands-on opportunities; tuition $95; registration deadline Aug. 6.
