A classic car show highlights 5 events happening in Brunswick this week

Classic Cars Rock 'n' Roll Cruise-In

The Cape Fear Cruisers will hold its ninth annual Classic Cars Rock 'n' Roll Cruise-In in downtown Southport. The fall Halloween-theme car show is open to all cars and trucks, all years and models. The car show will feature an impressive display of superb and vintage automobiles and trucks. The event will be held Saturday, Oct. 28 at the Southport Waterfront Park, 146-176 E. Bay St. Registration 8:30-11 a.m. There will be activities and attractions for peope  of all ages, from live music by The Back Porch Rockers to contests. There will be expanded parking on Howe Street from along Bay Street to Atlantic Street. All proceeds benefit local charities. Details: 910-477-3785 or www.Capefearcruisers.com.

Creepy Coastal Crawl

Stop by the Museum of Coastal Carolina for its second annual "Creepy Coastal Crawl," 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28 at 21 E. Second St., Ocean Isle Beach. Learn about "creepy" critters ( snakes, bioluminescent jellyfish, horseshoe crabs, insects and more) found along the coast and each gallery will have hands-on activities featuring a "creepy" critter from a specific habitat. Participants can wear Halloween costumes. Children can collect treats donated by sponsors at stations throughout the museum.

Southport Concert Series

The Southport Concert Series Thursdays in the Park will feature Lockwood River Band performing rock music at 6 p.m. Oct. 26 at Franklin Square Park, 105 E. West St., Southport.

NC Festival by the Sea

The Greater Holden Beach Merchants Association will host the annual NC Festival by the Sea, Saturday, Oct. 28 and Sunday, Oct. 29 at Holden Beach Pavilion, Jordan Boulevard in Holden Beach. The two-day coastal arts and crafts festival kicks off with a parade over the Holden Beach Causeway. The event will feature local craftsmen from across a variety of media, live entertainment, contests, food vendors, and children's activities. There also will be a horseshoe tournament and sandcastle building contest. Live music by Mostley Crue, a tribute band to Motley Crue, 6-9 p.m. Saturday and The British Invaders, 11:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Sunday. Also, the Holden Beach Turtle Turtle Patrol members will have a booth at the festival. Free admission and parking.

Trunk or Treat in Leland

Celebrate Halloween early with the town of Leland's annual Trunk or Treat from 4-6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28 at the Brunswick Village Town Center, located off East Cutlar Crossing behind Emerge Ortho and Wilmington Eye. Spectacular and spooky vehicles decorated by local businesses and community organizations will hand out candy. The event is free to attend with free parking available in the lots behind Wendy’s and Wilmington Eye.
