Classic & Clean Indoor Spring Wedding Inspiration at Portland’s Sentinel Hotel
We feature a fair share of al fresco fetes, but that doesn't mean that indoor soirees aren't the cat's meow. According to this slice of inspiration from Carlos Hernandez, Vanity Affair Events and Kaleb Norman James Design, they are. Natural light covers the stunningly set scene at Portland's Sentinel Hotel for indoor intrigue. Layer on the candlelight and you won't think twice if it happens to rain on your wedding day.
From Carlos Hernandez... Spring in Portland is all too often overlooked as an ideal wedding season, as showers force couples indoors. We desperately wanted to showcase a classic, clean, yet glamorous wedding with spring blooms and the seasons most coveted color: pink! Our focus for this shoot was transforming the iconic Sentinel Hotel into a warm, inviting and floral forward setting for guests to feel glamorous in even the years most rainy months.
In order to lighten the grand ballroom, we kept our tablescape monochromatic pink on pink velvet by La Tavola. We wanted to design a table that was both luxurious, traditional and showcased the use of color, especially with Pantone releasing Living Coral as 2019’s color of the year. We captured this intention with Kaleb Norman James’ off-centered abstract floral arrangement and acrylic menu cards, paired with traditional elements of a silver napkin ring, blush wine glasses, and hand calligraphy name cards.
The 3 tier white Italian buttercream cake perfectly fit our juxtaposition, with an abundance of white beading and a right aligned structure. However, the Galia LaHav gown from Dress Theory Seattle stole the show, with an oversized skirt, plunging neckline and glittered stars throughout. This inspirational shoot proves that April showers may bring your guests inside, but your day certainly won’t suffer because of it.
