The daughter of America's most argumentative political couple brought her passion to Englewood on Sunday. But this time, the teen wasn't complaining about her mother, former Trump adviser Kellyanne Conway, or seeking emancipation.

Instead, 17-year-old Claudia Conway aimed to "break the shackles of injustice" by protesting the recent Supreme Court decision on abortion. Conway and dozens of other teens participated in the "Public Cervix Announcement" march calling for abortion rights.

Describing herself as "a woman in the LGBTQ community," Conway said it was particularly important for her to play an active role in fighting for reproductive rights.

She added that though her parents oppose her views on the abortion issue, they support her activism.

"To hear that Roe was being overturned, it was such an angering moment and so disheartening moment" she said. "We're not free — why should we be celebrating our independence on July Fourth? We're angry. We're taking to the streets to fight."

She said she hopes to channel her anger into change by challenging the overturning of Roe v. Wade.

A group of several dozen protesters held signs with messages like "Mind your own bodies" and "As a girl, I hope that one day I have as many rights as a gun" and "Women's rights are human rights" and "I demand separation between vagina and state."

Jamil Mouehla, 19, a student at Bates College and a Harrington Park resident, was an organizer of the protest with Conway. He said he cares about the abortion issue because he's the son of a single mother who is hardworking, and that today's youth "need to amplify our voices to make change for our country."

Older people who participated said that although they were saddened by the SCOTUS decision, they were inspired to see the teens' passion.

"I did this 50 years ago when I was one of those young people," said Sandi Silverberg, a retired professor and longtime Englewood resident. "I am crying for them. They will grow up with fewer rights. I wanted to come and support them. They give me hope."

Expletive-laden rock music blared as the crowd marched down Englewood streets with a police escort.

"F-this-s-t!" Conway shouted into a megaphone, and the crowd shouted along with her. Among her other chants were "F- Kavanaugh," "F-July Fourth!" and "My body, my choice!" as she led protesters through Englewood's downtown. Some passersby smiled gleefully and pumped their fists in the air. Others just stared.
