Claudia Hoyser performs her first Ohio concert in Coshocton
COSHOCTON − Rising country music star Claudia Hoyser performed Friday on the Coshocton Court Square as the third concert of the second annual summer concert series. The series is a joint venture of the City of Coshocton and Our Town Coshocton. About 2,000 people turned out.
The concert followed the 12th annual First Farm Friday, a partnership of the Ohio State University Extension Office of Coshocton County, Coshocton County Farm Bureau and Coshocton Soil and Water Conservation District. The goal is to help educate locals on the county's number one industry. It featured farm equipment and machinery, animals, displays and more.
The was Hoyser's first concert in Ohio, but she wasn't unfamiliar with the state as she attended college at Kent State University. The 28-year-old from Fairport, New York, has written more than 200 songs and her latest single, "She's Smokin,'" is out now from her first full-length album, "Rid Lights Turning Green."
Earlier this year, her video for "Small Town Motels" spent nine weeks at number one on CMT's 12 Pack Countdown. She's opened for the likes of Miranda Lambert, Blake Shelton and Brantley Gilbert among others. Hoyser has her own brand of coffee and coffee flavored whiskey. She also hosts the interview show "Fired Up Live with Claudia Hoyser."
Series began in 2022 with Foreigner tribute band, Double Vision
The first concert of the series in June was Bad Animals, a Heart tribute act, that drew about 2,500 attendees. Dirty Deeds - The Xtreme AC/DC Tribute in July brought in about 4,000 concert goers.
The series started in 2022 and featured the Foreigner tribute act, Double Vision, which drew an estimated 2,000 people, the Fleetwood Mac tribute band, Fleetwood Mac Mania, that brought in about 2,500 folks and rising country star ERNEST with around 5,000 people turning out.
Closing the series at 3 p.m. Sept. 17 will be 7 Bridges - The Ultimate Eagles Experience. The group features Bryan Graves as Glenn Frey, Keith Thoma as Don Henley, Brian Franklin as Don Felder, Richie Scholl as Joe Walsh, James Richardson as Randy Meisner and Timothy Schmit and Vernon Roop as Joe Vitale.
