Clay County drivers to experience overnight road closure and detour

The Florida Department of Transportation will be closing parts of the First Coast Expressway (State Road 23) on Tuesday, Nov. 1, and Wednesday, Nov. 2.

As part of the construction plans, Henley Road between Lake Asbury Road and Caleb Court will close at 9 p.m. each night. The roads will reopen by 5 a.m. the following morning.

The closure will allow crews to work on the expressway overpass over Henley Road.

During the closures, traffic will be detoured via Russell Road and Sandridge Road. Refer to the map below for more details.

FDOT to host Nov. 3 public meeting for proposed Atlantic Boulevard project

The Florida Department of Transportation will host a public meeting on Thursday, Nov. 3. Discussions will center around the permit-related median modifications proposed for the intersection at Atlantic Boulevard and Sutton Lake Boulevard.

Proposed plans are calling for a new roadway on the north side of Atlantic Boulevard between Duval Acura and Land Rover. A modification to the traffic signal at Sutton Lakes Boulevard is also needed.

The meeting will be held in person at the FDOT facility at 2198 Edison Ave. in Jacksonville. People will also have the choice of attending virtually.
