DREW SILVA: Yankees reliever Clay Holmes is butting into a fantasy standout before our very eyes. He was only barely on the radar in draft this spring, at least in non-holds leagues, because there wasn't a clear path for him to earn saves in the Bronx. But then Aroldis Chapman went on the injured list in late May with Achilles discomfort, just about a week after it was announced that prominent setup man Chad Green would need Tommy John reconstructive elbow surgery.

The Avenue to saves has fully opened up to Holmes, who was 4-4 in such opportunities in May, and 6-6 in saves opportunities for the season. All while surrendering just one run in 24 and 2/3 innings for a ridiculous 0.36 ERA. Among the 89 batters he's faced, 26 of them have struck out and just 2 have earned a walk. Even when Chapman does return to the fold for New York, there's no doubt that Holmes is going to remain a key piece of the high leverage bullpen mix.
