Claymont Foundation awards teacher and building grants

DENNISON − The Claymont Foundation has awarded more than $28,000 in teacher and building grants for the 2023-24 academic year.

The Dave Adams grants, which are provided to expose the Claymont students to the fine and performing arts, were awarded to:

  • Miriam Scheetz – 3-Dimensional Art Lessons, $4,000

  • Carrie Kunkle – Transitional Ceramics, $1,399.48

  • April Linard and Steven Chambers – Excelling the Claymont Way through OMEA, $3,245

  • April Linard – Gettin’ Slick with Reeds and Sticks, $500

  • April Linard – Curriculum Update, $800

  • Steven Chambers – Bringing Up the Score!, $1,825

  • Steven Chambers – New Keys to Success, $2,499.99

  • Clara Warner – Orff-tastic!, $7,303.90

  • Clara Warner – Pinocchio at Kent State PAC, $908.92

  • Nicole Miles – Expanding Clay Interactions, $1,173.04

The Claymont Foundation Grants were awarded to:

  • Ashley Hostetler and Nicholas Wright – Elementary Sensory Room Update, $993.05

  • Susan Monticelli – Connection Leaves Us Beyond Successful (CLUBS), $978.34

  • Michele Henry – How to Survive Middle School, $1,750

  • Andrew Zimmerman – Trip to Dreamsville, $125

  • Angela Grewell – Young Authors in the Claymont Community, $500

The Claymont Foundation was established to enhance the educational opportunities for the Claymont City Schools.
