It was already clear by March-April 2022 that Russia's war against Ukraine would last a long time, National Security and Defense Council Secretary Oleksiy Danilov told Radio Liberty on Nov. 3.

"It was clear since March-April last year, back in 2022, that it would be a long war," Danilov said during an interview.

"The Russian Federation is large in terms of territory — it's like a big dinosaur with a big ass, sorry, but a small head," the official said.

"And of course, it needs to be cut into (many) pieces."

“This is a very difficult process. As a result of the events taking place in the world today, each country has its own interest. We have to take this into account, we have to understand it. I emphasize once again that we are aware of all these processes.”

Danilov noted that on the first day of the full-scale war, he had a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, and shared his prediction with him.

"In terms of when the aid will come, when we will receive it, who will provide it, it is 99.9% (accurate)," he said.

“Another thing is that we would like it to happen right away.”

Danilov also said Ukraine is in a very difficult situation due to the influence of Russian agents.
