Clear skies ahead, but temperatures take a dip tonight

Columbus, Ga (WRBL)- The weekend clouds have moved out and left us with beautiful skies to start of this week! Even though temperatures this morning were in the 40s and even 30s, afternoon high remained seasonal in the 50s.

Overnight, readings will drop into the lower 30s by tomorrow morning, and some areas will see below freezing. Temperatures will warm right back up by the afternoon with just a few passing clouds throughout the day.

Wednesday morning, a cold front will start to move through the southeast bringing some colder temperatures again Thursday morning. Even though areas across Northern Alabama and Northern Georgia may see showers, locally we will only see some clouds Wednesday morning.

Our next chance for rain moves in this weekend. A cold front will likely bring showers and storms Sunday, with a few showers continuing through Monday afternoon.
