On Friday, Nov. 3, country music star Lee Brice, a Clemson University alumnus, surprised customers at the Bojangles in Pendleton located at 7610 Highway 76.

Brice, a Sumter native, won the Academy of Country Music award for Song of the Year in 2012 for, “I Drive Your Truck,” a ballad based on a real life story of an American soldier.

Brice has been a partner for Bojangles in promoting products like their famous chicken sandwich.

Allyson Campbell, Senior Director of Marketing for BoJangles of Western North Carolina said, "What a great way to kick off gameday weekend with Lee Brice stopping by. In Clemson, the party starts on Friday."

On Saturday, Nov. 4, the Clemson Tigers hosted and defeated No. 15 Notre Dame. Brice came out to hype up the community before the upcoming game.

"It's awesome to come back. We try to come back at least once a year. It's part of my life. Clemson is family, Bojangles is family and you can't beat this atmosphere," Brice said.

Brice joined the Bojangles team in the drive-thru line. He also helped roll biscuits alongside the restaurant’s certified biscuit maker, LaToya Teasley. Lee took photos, talked to fans and served biscuits.

Lee also signed Clemson-themed Big Bo boxes for fans outside a mural on the Bojangles' wall. Lee also pumped up the Tigers' faithful and encouraged fans to support the team.

"Win or lose, we'll be Tiger fans no matter what," Brice said.

Following Brice's visit, the Tigers defeated Notre Dame, 31-23. The upset improved Clemson's record to 5-4.
