Here's how Clemson basketball nearly pulled upset No. 24 Iowa, falling 74-71

Clemson basketball played its best game of the season in a loss.

The Tigers pushed No. 24 Iowa to the limit Friday night, coming up just short, 74-71, in the semifinals of the Emerald Coast Classic in Niceville, Florida.

Clemson (4-2) will play 4 p.m. Saturday in the tournament's consolation game against either Cal or TCU.Iowa (5-0) had a 14-point lead with less than eight minutes remaining. But Clemson answered with a 16-2 run and tied it on a 3-pointer by Brevin Galloway with 3:30 remaining.

Chase Hunter made a pointer with 4.5 seconds left to get Clemson within 72-71. Hunter led the Tigers with 21 points and had six assists. He had back-to-back three-point plays down the stretch to get Clemson within 61-59 with four minutes remaining.
