CLEMSON — Clemson basketball opens NIT play Wednesday, hosting Morehead State at Littlejohn Coliseum. The Tigers are a No. 1 seed in the tournament after missing out on a March Madness bid.
Clemson (23-10) is playing in its 18th NIT and its fourth under coach Brad Brownell. The Tigers' last appearance in the tournament was in 2019, when a No. 2-seed Clemson exited in the second round after a loss to No. 6-seed Wichita State.
Morehead State, on the other hand, is playing in its first NIT. The Eagles (21-11) won the Ohio Valley Conference regular-season title but fell short of the automatic bid for the league's tournament champion.
The winner of Wednesday's game will face the winner of No. 4-seed UAB vs. Southern Miss on either Saturday or Sunday.
