Clemson basketball score vs. North Carolina Tar Heels: Live updates

It’s bubble watch season.

With only seven regular-season basketball games remaining for each, Clemson and North Carolina play Saturday (2 p.m., ESPN2) in what seems a crucial contest for NCAA tournament hopes.

Clemson (18-6, 10-3) is tied for the ACC lead with Virginia and Pitt. But the Tigers, according to Joe Lunardi’s latest bracketology prediction would drop from a No. 11 seed to one of the last four in the field. North Carolina (15-9, 7-6) with a loss would fall from last four in to first four out.

Clemson has lost two straight and will play Feb. 28 at Virginia in the next-to-last game of the regular season. The Tigers will finish at home March 4 against Notre Dame and the ACC tournament begins March 7 in Greensboro, North Carolina.

UNC has lost three straight to Pitt, Duke and Wake Forest. The Tar Heels down the stretch will play Miami (10-4), N.C. State (9-5), Virginia (10-3) and Duke (8-5).
