Clemson basketball score vs. Notre Dame Fighting Irish: Live updates

Clemson All-ACC forward Hunter Tyson

There’s considerably more at stake for the Clemson basketball team than just a regular season-ending victory Saturday night when the Tigers play host to Notre Dame.

The Tigers will be playing to wrap up a Top 4 finish in the ACC and earn a bye in the first two rounds of next week’s ACC Tournament in Greensboro, North Carolina.

Clemson (21-9, 13-6 ACC) and Notre Dame (11-19, 3-16) will be playing for the first time this season and in what will be the final regular-season game for longtime Notre Dame coach Mike Brey, who is stepping down at season’s end after 23 years with the Fighting Irish.

Notre Dame has struggled this season, particularly in close games. The Fighting Irish have lost 11 games by single digits and count five ACC losses for five or fewer points.

Clemson, which was tabbed for an 11th-place finish in the ACC’s preseason poll, has set a program record with 13 ACC victories this season and will be looking to enhance its postseason resume with a win against Notre Dame and a victory or two in the ACC Tournament.
