Clemson football to host ESPN's College GameDay for matchup vs NC State

Clemson will be in the national spotlight Saturday for a top-10 football matchup against NC State and site for ESPN's "College GameDay" show.

The No. 5 Tigers (4-0, 2-0 ACC) and No. 10 Wolfpack (4-0, 0-0) will kick off at 7:30 p.m. at Memorial Stadium. ABC will televise the game.

"College GameDay" airs from 9 a.m. to noon. The show is expected to once again emanate from its traditional location on Bowman Field.

Clemson has been featured on "College GameDay" at least once for 13 straight years and eight at home. GameDay came to Clemson in 2020 prior to the top-ranked Tigers beating No. 7 Miami, 42-17. The first appearance at Clemson was in 2006 before a 31-7 win against Georgia Tech. The Tigers are 7-1 in GameDay home games and 18-11 overall.

NC State last season beat Clemson, 27-21, in double overtime. The Tigers are coming off a 51-45 double-overtime victory against Wake Forest. NC State beat UConn, 41-10. Oddsmakers have Clemson as a seven-point favorite.

Clemson held steady in the USA TODAY coaches' poll and NC State rose one spot.
