What channel is The CW on TV?

Clemson is playing on The CW for the first time this week, which may shake up how some viewers traditionally watch the Tigers. The best way to find the game on The CW, a traditional channel, is through old-school broadcast antenna or cable.

For the Clemson area, the game will be on Channel 10.2 on traditional broadcast TV and Channel 62 for DirecTV and DISH Network customers. You can also find local channel options for your area by plugging your ZIP code into The CW website.

The game will also be available on streaming TV platforms such as YouTube TV or Hulu + Live TV and cable apps such as the DIRECTV app, but it will not be available for streaming via the ESPN app (since The CW isn’t affiliated) or The CW app itself.

Clemson vs. NC State Vegas point spread

Clemson is a 10-point road favorite against N.C. State, according to the VegasInsider.com consensus betting line that factors in multiple sportsbooks.

N.C. State is picking up 59% of the bets against the spread, though, meaning those gamblers think the Wolfpack will stay within 10 points of the Tigers or win the game outright.

This is the 17th year in a row that Clemson’s favored against N.C. State, a former ACC Atlantic Division opponent, dating back to 2006. It’s also the 10th time in 11 years that the Tigers are favored by 10-plus points against the Wolfpack (last year’s spread was Clemson minus-6.5).

Weather forecast for Raleigh NC

Sunny with a high of 85 degrees and light winds, per the Weather.com 10-day forecast. Temperatures will drop to 60 degrees overnight, and the game should be ending about an hour before sunset at 6:23 p.m.

Top storylines for the game

  • Last weekend’s loss to Miami — Clemson’s third in seven games — puts some of the Tigers’ top streaks in jeopardy. Clemson this Saturday will be looking to extend its streak of 161 regular-season games without back-to-back losses dating back to November 2011. That’s the longest active streak in the country. More prominently, Clemson has won 10-plus games in 12 consecutive seasons, the third longest streak in FBS history. But at 4-3 with no ACC Championship game in sight, the Tigers can’t slip up again and have to win their last five regular-season games and bowl game to get to 10 wins this season. So the Wolfpack, one of Clemson’s scrappier opponents, can play spoiler times two.

  • Injuries are piling up for Clemson as the season goes along. Coach Dabo Swinney said this week wide receiver Antonio Williams (toe) will be out a while. Williams, a 2022 freshman All-American, had just gotten healthy after missing three games with an ankle injury. Starting strong safety R.J. Mickens is also week to week after getting appendix surgery, and defensive Justin Mascoll and cornerback Jeadyn Lukus are dealing with undisclosed injuries. It’s to be determined if either of them can go this week.

  • Clemson on Saturday is seeking its 17th win in 19 tries against N.C. State. The Tigers won eight straight from 2012-19, the longest winning streak by either side in the Textile Bowl series, but their last trip to Raleigh didn’t go so well. The unranked Wolfpack beat then-No. 9 Clemson 27-21 in double overtime, leading to a field rush and celebratory red Solo cup and cigar interview by coach Dave Doeren. Clemson got revenge in 2022, winning 30-20 in an AP Top 10 matchup, but wide receiver Beaux Collins said there’s still a lingering bad taste in Clemson players’ mouths from the 2021 result.

  • Speaking of Doeren, both he and Swinney — two of the ACC’s longest tenured coaches — are on the verge of records. Swinney, currently tied with Frank Howard, remains one win shy of setting Clemson’s all-time program record with 166. And Doeren can tie Earle Edwards (77) for the most wins in N.C. State football history. Swinney is 8-1 against Doeren all-time, and Doeren is one of only two head coaches to lose to Swinney eight times (Wake Forest’s Dave Clawson). Someone will leave Saturday with a record.

N.C. State quarterback MJ Morris (7) prepares to throw during the first half of N.C. State’s game against Marshall at Carter-Finley Stadium in Raleigh, N.C., Saturday, Oct. 7, 2023.

Clemson vs. NC State players to watch

  • Clemson WR Beaux Collins: Second on the team in receiving yards, Collins has been making consistent pop plays and averages 14.2 yards per catch. But the 6-foot-3 outside receiver has only caught one touchdown pass over his last five games and has two total.

  • Clemson S Khalil Barnes: Expect a lot of snaps for Barnes in the absence of Mickens. The true freshman playmaker from Georgia has already proven he’s up to the challenge, with two forced fumbles and an interception in his first seven career games.

  • NC State QB MJ Morris: A four-star recruit and running threat, Morris took over for former Virginia starter Brennan Armstrong at quarterback two games ago. He was solid against Marshall (265 yards, four touchdowns) but iffy against Duke (193 yards, no touchdowns) and has a 1:1 touchdown-interception ratio and 27.1 QB rating this year.

  • NC State LB Payton Wilson: It’s hard to affect the game as a linebacker as much as Wilson, a sixth-year veteran, has this season for N.C. State. The heart and soul of the Wolfpack defense leads the ACC in tackles and is third in the FBS with 11.6 per game and has won the ACC’s Linebacker of the Week award three times in six games.
