Clemson softball vs. Oklahoma State: Live score updates from NCAA super regional

Clemson softball, in its second full season, is two wins away from the College World Series.

The 10th-seeded Tigers (42-15) begin a best-of-three super regional Thursday (9:30 p.m., ESPN2) at No. 7 seed Oklahoma State (44-12). The second game at Cowgirl Stadium in Stillwater, Oklahoma, is scheduled for 9 p.m. Friday with a final game, if necessary, Saturday at a time to be determined.

Clemson advanced to its first super regional by sweeping through the four-team regional at McWhorter Stadium with three straight wins, two by mercy rule, and never allowed a run. The Tigers beat UNC Wilmington in a no-hitter in the first game, Auburn with a four-hitter in the second and Louisiana in a one-hitter for the championship.

Coach John Rittman finished talking with media about the path leading to the NCAA Softball Super Regionals in Stillwater, Oklahoma, during a press conference at McWhorter Stadium in Clemson May 24, 2022. The Tigers play with Oklahoma State University starting May 26.

The Tigers, after a COVID-shortened debut season in 2020, made the ACC tournament championship game both years since and qualified for a regional. Last season came to an end at Alabama.

"I think we're more prepared and confident that we can take on whatever big moments are ahead," Clemson graduate student second baseman Cammy Pereira said. "For this to be our second year and host a regional and have a top-10 seed and to be able to potentially got to the World Series, I think it's something that's just unheard of for such a new program."
