Clemson softball vs. UNC Wilmington: Live score updates from NCAA Tournament Regional
CLEMSON – Another milestone for Clemson softball.
The program, in its second full season of existence, is hosting an NCAA Regional at McWhorter Stadium. The Tigers ( 39-5, 14-10 ACC) begin the tournament with a noon game Friday against UNC Wilmington (32-13, 11-7 Colonial Athletic Association). That will be followed at 2:30 p.m. by Louisiana (45-11, 23-4 Sun Belt) against Auburn (39-15, 11-13 SEC).
Clemson made it to the ACC championship game for a second straight season, losing to Florida State, but still got a No. 10 overall seed in the 64-team NCAA Tournament.
"We're super-excited to be hosting our first NCAA Regional," Clemson coach John Rittman said. "Our team has worked extremely hard for this opportunity. We just want to put on a great show for our fans. ... It's a great opportunity to showcase not only our team but our facility, the fans and our great community here at Clemson."
