Clemson is a 21.5-point favorite in the game, according to Tipico Sportsbook.

College football Week 1 picks, predictions:

Greenville News: Clemson 31, Georgia Tech 6

Scott Keepfer writes: "There’s not much buzz about these Yellow Jackets, who have won a total of nine games in three seasons under Geoff Collins. Jahmyr Gibbs, their best offensive playmaker, transferred to Alabama, and Clemson’s deep and experienced defensive front should have a field day against a Tech offensive line that is questionable at best."

Pac-12 football Week 1 picks, predictions:

Picks and Parlays: Clemson 41, Georgia Tech 10

Cameron Ross writes: "The Clemson Tigers are by far the better team in this matchup and it will show from the opening kick off. Look for the talent and depth of the Tigers to overwhelm Georgia Tech throughout the game as the Tigers coast to a 1-0 season start. Take Clemson to open the year in blow out fashion as they win and cover in Atlanta."

Odds Checker: Take Georgia Tech with the points vs. Clemson

It writes: "Looking to get right back into the CFB Playoff picture is the Clemson Tigers. Dabo Swinney’s squad, for their standards, had a down 2021-22 campaign as the Tigers put together a 9-3 record and finished nowhere near the nation’s top four. However, boasting perhaps the best defense in recent memory, potentially matching last year’s Georgia defense, coupled with veteran QB DJ Uiagaleilei, Clemson could be primed for yet another appearance in the College Football playoff."

Sports Illustrated: Take Clemson to cover vs. Georgia Tech

James Parks writes: "Clemson missed the big play opportunity as DJ Uiagalelei struggled last fall, and this elite defensive unit slogged through injuries. This was a very close 14-8 game for the Tigers in 2021, but accounting for returning starters and improvement at QB, this should look more like the Clemson we know."

Bleacher Report: Clemson will cover vs. Georgia Tech

Joe Tansey writes: "D.J. Uiagalelei needs to show improvement from last season with five-star recruit Cade Klubnik pushing for his job, but he should get off to a strong start against an average-at-best Georgia Tech team. Uiagalelei gets his top three running backs and a few top pass-catchers back and that should allow the Tigers to get off to a fast start and bury the Yellow Jackets by halftime. Clemson's national title hopes will not be decided on Monday, but Uiagalelei and Co. could improve the perception of them in the national picture if they destroy Georgia Tech, like previous Clemson teams would do."

Sporting News: Clemson 38, Georgia Tech 13

Bill Bender writes: "Clemson beat Georgia Tech 73-7 in 2019 but squeaked out a 14-8 victory with a goal-line stand last season. So, what's it going to be at Mercedes-Benz Stadium? The Tigers should be nasty on defense, and this feels like the first of many “strike back” games in the ACC. We're going to trust that the big plays return for the Tigers."
