As the Browns make moves to get their roster to the league limit by the deadline, they will be posted here. Keep checking in throughout the next couple of days to see what transactions the team has executed to get to the initial 53.

Browns announce official moves to get down to 53-man roster

The Browns officially announced the moves they made Tuesday to get the roster down to the initial 53. That includes 17 players waived, two terminated contracts and Deshaun Watson being placed on the suspended list, making him ineligible for the roster.

Here's the list of players waived: LB Dakota Allen, WR Daylen Baldwin, TE Miller Forristall, TE Nakia Griffin-Stewart, G Blake Hance, WR Mike Harley Jr., LB Wille Harvey Jr., S Lavert Hill (injured), C Brock Hoffman, CB Shaun Jolly, CB Herb Miller, TE Zaire Mitchell-Paden, G David Moore Jr., T Alex Taylor, DT Roderick Perry II, FB Johnny Stanton IV and WR Easop Winston. John Kelly Jr. and Josh Rosen had their contracts terminated.

Linebacker Dakota Allen among those who won't make Browns depth chart

The Browns are reportedly cutting free-agent linebacker Dakota Allen, per multiple reports. Allen was signed as a free agent during the summer after playing 32 career games over three seasons between the Jaguars and Raiders.

Michael Woods II apparently set as one of the receivers kept

Rookie receiver Michael Woods II has been sidelined with a hamstring injury since early August. However, the appeal of his talent, as well he potential use on special teams, has apparently earned him a spot on the initial 53-man roster.

At least, that's the case if one checks out Woods' Instagram account.

Johnny Stanton confirms his departure on Twitter

Johnny Stanton confirmed earlier reports that he was being released by getting onto Twitter and saying goodbye to Cleveland.

Josh Rosen, John Kelly Jr., Brock Hoffman among those to be released

Josh Rosen was signed in July to provide an arm for camp. According to a report by CBS Sports' Josina Anderson, Rosen will be among those released by the Browns.

Anderson also included running back John Kelly Jr. as a name not previously reported among those cut. ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that center Brock Hoffman will also be released.

Johnny Stanton, Zaire Mitchell-Paden among those reportedly released

A mild surprise here as multiple reports indicate that fullback/tight end Johnny Stanton has been released. Stanton's versatility between those two spots seemed like a way for him to stay on the roster, especially after Miller Forristall and, most recently, Zaire Mitchell-Paden were released.

Reports also indicate that the Browns don't have plans to bring him back on the practice squad should he clear waivers.

Roderick Perry, Willie Harvey Jr. take two defensive players off roster

The Orange and Brown Report's Brad Stainbrook is reporting defensive lineman Roderick Perry is among today's cuts. Perry was an undrafted free agent out of Illinois.

Willie Harvey Jr. was also released, per Stainbrook. Harvey, a linebacker, was signed as a free agent in the offseason.

Easop Winston, Daylen Baldwin latest receivers reportedly released

Another receiver/return man is reportedly going to be among those released today by the Browns. ESPN's Jake Trotter is reporting the team plans to waive Easop Winston.

Winston was signed earlier this month after being cut by New Orleans. He was used heavily as a punt returner, especially in the final preseason game.

Daylen Baldwin is also being released, per The Orange and Brown Report's Brad Stainbrook. Baldwin had been in concussion protocol since the second preseason game against the Eagles.

Miller Forristall, Nakia Griffin-Stewart, Herb Miller reportedly released

Tight ends Miller Forristall and Nakia Griffin-Stewart, as well as cornerback Herb Miller have been released, per The Orange and Brown Report's Brad Stainbrook. Forristall was considered a strong candidate to be tight end No. 3 behind David Njoku and Harrison Bryant, while Miller was seen as a contender to be the sixth cornerback.

Offensive lineman Blake Hance, cornerback Shaun Jolly has been released

Offensive lineman Blake Hance is apparently ending up on the wrong side of the roster bubble. Multiple reports state the versatile lineman is being released today.

Hance played 17 games for the Browns a year ago, including eight starts. He also played in two playoff games in 2020 after he was signed shortly before the Wild Card win in Pittsburgh.

Cornerback Shaun Jolly is also being released, per Pro Football Network. PFN's Aaron Wilson reports the team would like to add him to the practice squad if he makes it through waivers

Receiver/return man Mike Harley Jr. reportedly released

Cutdown day's first reported move for the Browns comes in the receiver room. Mike Harley Jr., the undrafted rookie out of Miami (Fla.), was released, per multiple reports.

Harley, who may be a strong candidate to land on the practice squad should get through waivers, was one of the players who was in the mix as a return man after Jakeem Grant Sr.'s season-injury Achilles injury.

Chris Odom to IR, Jovante Moffatt among five waived, Javon Wims cut

The Browns officially announced seven moves Monday to get the roster to 73 ahead of Tuesday's deadline. The biggest was to place defensive lineman Chris Odom on injured reserve after he tore his ACL during Saturday's preseason finale.

The team also made official the previously-reported decisions to terminate the contract of receiver Javon Wims, while waiving receiver JaMarcus Bradley, offensive lineman Ben Petrula, and defensive linemen Glen Logan and Curtis Weaver.

The team also announced it had waived safety Jovante Moffatt.

JaMarcus Bradley, Javon Wims reportedly among early cuts

Receivers JaMarcus Bradley and Javon Wims are among those reportedly being released by the Browns, per reports. ESPN was the first to report Bradley, while the Orange and Brown Report reported Wims.

The OBR also reported that the Browns have released offensive lineman Ben Petula and defensive lineman Glen Logan.

NFL Network reports Browns waiving defensive end Curtis Weaver

On Sunday afternoon, NFL Network reporter Tom Pelissero reported that the Browns were waiving defensive end Curtis Weaver. A former fifth-round pick of the Miami Dolphins in 2020 out of Boise State, Weaver was signed as a free agent by the Browns this offseason.
