Cleveland Metroparks Reopening Beaches, Restaurant

CLEVELAND — The Cleveland Metroparks are reopening several lakefront amenities for the summer season. The park system's restaurant, marinas and beaches will welcome guests starting in June.

“It’s no question that our parks along the Lake Erie shoreline are some of our favorite places to gather together and connect with nature each summer,” said Cleveland Metroparks CEO Brian Zimmerman. “We’re excited to open some of our community’s favorite lakefront amenities with safety measures in place to protect our guests and patrons.”

The full-service restaurant, e55 on the lake, is now open. Concession stands across the park district are also selling food and drinks to guests. The E. 55th Street Marina and Emerald Necklace Marina are open for boaters, though hours are limited.

Guarded swim hours at Edgewater and Huntington beaches begins June 6. Park visitors are required to follow CDC safety guidelines to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus. Safety protocols will include social distancing and limiting group gatherings to 10 people or less.

Park officials and local police will monitor attendance at parks. Parking at beach areas may be limited to restrict visitors at the beaches.

The following concession stands are now open through the Cleveland Metroparks:

  • The Hut at Huntington Beach: Open daily from noon to 7 p.m.

  • Edgewater Beach House concession: Open daily from noon to 7 p.m. beginning Thursday, June 4. Second floor of Beach House remains closed.

  • The Pier Grille & Bait Shop at Edgewater: Open daily from noon to 7 p.m. beginning Thursday, June 4.

  • Emerald Necklace Marina concession: Open daily from noon to 7 p.m. beginning Friday, June 5.

  • Wallace Lake Café: Open daily from noon to 7 p.m. beginning Saturday, June 6.

Merwin's Wharf remains closed at this time, park system officials said. Swimming at Villa Angela Beach, Hinckley Spillway Swim Area and Ledge Pool will not be allowed during the 2020 season.
