Clever with a proclivity for puns? Try naming this Nashville snow plow

Winter is coming and so too will the snow plows. Is it just us, or do you ever pass by a plow and chuckle "There goes Betty Whiteout"?

The Tennessee Department of Transportation wants to make your passing thought a reality. For the first time, Tennesseans have the opportunity to name four snow plows in the state's fleet.

"Our hardworking snowplows have personality," the Tennessee Department of Transportation said. "Help us name them!"

The contest, which opened Tuesday, will continue through November 30.

The rules:

  1. Names should be one or two words

  2. Names should be appropriate and cannot contain profanity or inappropriate language

  3. There is no limit on submissions by any one person or group, though each name must be its own submission

  4. The submitted name cannot be owned or copyrighted by another entity such as a movie, tv show, person's name or reference an existing company

  5. The contest is open to Tennessee residents

Once TDOT collects all the submissions, they will begin their review on December 1 and all qualified names will be published to the public. Tennesseans will then be able to vote for their top four.

So what's it going to be, Tennessee?

Snowtorious B.I.G.? Snowbi-Wan Kenobi or De-Ice, Ice Baby?

Just kidding. Those plow names are already taken in other states.
